Genital warts are a symptom of HPV. When HPV is passed, genital warts are one of the symptoms that can occur. These warts can take on a whole other life of their own with their own symptoms and treatments.Genital warts are highly contagious. It is passed through direct skin contact during oral sex, genital sex or anal sex. There is no cure for warts but there are treatments that can be done to control the wart flare ups.In women, warts can occur both inside and outside the vagina. It can also be present on the anus. In men, warts most often show up on the tip of the male genitalia but can also show up anywhere on the scrotum or on the anus. It is very rare but genital warts can also show up on the mouth or the throat. Men will most often not even know they have warts until they become large.
