Why are pet supplements necessary?  How often have I been asked that. It could equally be asked why are human supplements necessary? Answer that question and you have the same answer to the same question asked of pets. All supplements are necessary in order to maintain good health:  if everybody was in perfect health there would be no need for supplements, and the same is true of your pets.

A cat is probably best placed of all pets to look after itself, since cats feed naturally on rats and mice, but those that do, while they get a nutritious diet not ruined by the high degree of processing used in normal pet foods, also need antibiotics and other treatments to make sure they didn’t fall prey to one or more of the diseases associated with rodents.

Common pet supplements include vitamins and minerals, antihistamines to help with their allergies (scratching and pulling at their fur) and enzymes and probiotics for the same reason that we need them.  Perhaps antihistamines are not so much a supplement as a treatment, but they still need them. Most pet foods are so highly processed at such high temperatures that they lack the basic nutrients of good food, and without pet supplements they will be undernourished. Your pets need supplements more than you do. Think about it!

Your pet could suffer from poor hair (pelt), bladder infections, and intestinal issues.  Natural pet supplements are available or these and more at your local and internet health food store.  Remember to always choose name brands like actipet pet supplements to ensure quality and purity of the vitamins, minerals, and herbs you buy for your beloved pet.
