Driving all the way down to Canterbury was not going to happen considering I only had five days spare and I had to get there and back and spend at least two days meeting with people. Although it takes a couple of days to drive it only takes a couple of hours on a plane so that was the option I was taking and then I would just pick up a car from Rental car Christchurch Airport when I arrived. It worked out really well as I got to spend three days meeting with people and then have a day off when I got back home.
